Ideas for cultural visits on Mondays in Zaragoza

Although on Mondays many museums are closed, there are however many other cultural visits to do in Zaragoza to start the week!


Here are some ideas to make the most of your Monday in Zaragoza:



Basilica del Pilar. The emblem of the city. Not to be missed, the elevator that will take you at the top of one of the towers from which you will be able to contemplate Zaragoza from the heights.

Cathedral of the Holy Savior – La Seo . Beautiful from the outside and incredible inside. It will leave you speechless! You can visit the Museum of the tapestry it hosts that gather together an extraordinary collection of tapestries from the 15th until the 18th century.

Palace of the Aljafería . It’s the most important Muslim Palace of the eleventh century built in Western land. Its mudejar remains were declared World Heritage by Unesco.

Mirador of the Torreon of the Zuda . Of Muslim origin and perfectly restored, it now houses one of the tourism office of Zaragoza. On the top floor, there’s a mirador offering a great view of the city.

San Pablo Church. Typical temple of the Mudejar religious architecture, and among the magnificent examples of Aragonese mudejar art, declared world heritage by Unesco.

Basilica of Santa Engracia. This church is a minor Basilica with a rich decoration. You can see in its crypt sarcophagi from the Roman period.


Museums and exhibition halls

Museum of Natural Sciences. A space dedicated to research, conservation related to natural sciences heritage. Interesting collection of fossils and dissected animals.

Goya Museum collection Ibercaja – Museum Camón Aznar. The only institution in the world that displays permanently the complete collections of engravings of the universal Aragonese artist Francisco de Goya.

CaixaForum. Cultural center of the bank La Caixa. It offers major art and science exhibitions  occur and other activities like concerts, theater, etc.

Other spaces

Patio of the Infanta. One of the best conserved Aragonese Renaissance courtyards, oddly located within the office building of the Bank Ibercaja.

River aquariumThe river Aquarium of Zaragoza is the largest in Europe. Through a series of themed galleries it will make you discover the natural life the Nile, Mekong, Amazon, Darling Murray and Ebro river.
