Posted September 1, 2017 by zaragozaturismo in Culture

September means back to school, back to the routine and end of the summer holidays for many of us… this can be an arduous task after these long summer walks and days of relax!

Zaragoza and its cultural programme will help you, for a weekend or more, to face this return to the routine thanks to events planned for the next few weeks.  And with music is even better 😉! Jazz, Folklore, independent music, musical shows… there are choices for all tastes along this month in Zaragoza!

In early September, the festivities start with the XXVI International Meeting of Folklore EIFOLK, which will be held from 1 to 3 September at the Zaragoza Auditorium Congress Palace. This event is a classic of the Festival panorama of the city. Sponsored by UNESCO, the agency that awarded the city of Zaragoza the title of “emblematic place of the culture of peace”. The international meeting of Folklore ‘Zaragoza City’ meets this year 10 groups from Cyprus, Mexico, Peru, Serbia and Spanish regions of Navarre, Castilla y León, Castilla la Mancha and Aragon.

Would you like to enjoy the typical dance of our region? Aragonese folklore comes from the hand of the dancer Miguel Angel Berna, who offers in his new show, ‘The Jota ‘, the fusion of traditional values with modernity.

The dance and the melodies of the mandolin, guitars, piano, bass and some “musical surprises” will be the protagonists of the staging of “La Jota” with proposals “from the traditional jotas until experiments.”

For lovers of jazz, don´t miss from 14 to 16 September Jazzene 2017 at the Zaragoza Auditorium Congress Palace.

Some of the most representative Spanish groups of its kind in the current panorama will give a total of 12 concerts in format showcase of 45 minutes as Pau force Trio, Antonio Serrano, Carola Ortiz Group, Abe Rabade Trio, Gladston Galliza, Maria Toro Project, Tr3spuntocer0, Noa Lur, Ramon Fossati Trio Glowing, Chicuelo Mezquida, Antonio Lizana and Michael Olivera Group with the collaboration of Munir Hossn.

Fans of indie music will find their happiness on 30 September at the XVII Festival of independent music of Zaragoza, one of the most consolidated appointments at the national level. The FIZ 2017 festival will welcome this year many groups and national and international artists.

The cultural space Las Armas, created to stimulate the creative proposals in the historic centre of Zaragoza, offers also several musical appointments throughout the year with several national and international groups. September programming goes from Cuban rhythms until the Rhythm & Blue, rock and electronic music. All the programming here!

This space will also host the Zaragoza Psych Fest, the first festival of psychedelic music in Spain.

During the 15th and 16th of September you can enjoy, among others, eleven reference groups of British neo-psych as Dead Rabbits; the Argentine Hurricane Heart Attacks, the Portuguese Russos 10 000; Is Bliss, the Russians The Karovas Milkshake and Desert Mountain Tribe. The Festival will offer more activities in the form of performance, expos, etc…  More information here

This is just an example of any musical activity you can find in Zaragoza for the month of September but you can find all the cultural offer on the Agenda of the Town Hall of Zaragoza.
