CaixaForum Zaragoza: much more than a Museum

CaixaForum Zaragoza was opened two years ago. Its aim is to bring culture to all audiences, from children to older people without great artistic knowledge. To achieve this, they have a wide range of cultural activities distributed in the different floors of the building. Have you visited it?

Auditorium. It has 250 seats and translation booths. Here there are concerts, opera sessions, and 4 conference programs around the exhibitions showed at the time. It also houses social initiatives of companies, foundations, associations… with a social purposes, not to raise funds or to make business presentations.

Exhibition halls. There are 2 equipped rooms for exhibitions. They don’t exhibit works of alive or local artists. Its aim is to bring to the public works of high artistic and cultural content, which are not available to all, through agreements with international museums. Painting, ethnic art, ancient civilizations, architecture, film and photography are the main themes of the exhibitions showed.

Each September they present the annual exhibition programming. There is a specific brochure for every exhibition with all the information related to it. The access to the exhibitions costs €4. They also have audio guides.

The guided tours  have extra cost of €3. There is at least one guided tour daily. In addition, Saturdays there are a few family visits of 30-minute adapted to children; and at 7 p.m. There’s a guided tour of 50 minutes to the building to better understand its meaning and architectural details.

Classroom workshop. They have up to 70 people. Two of them have direct connection with the Auditorium and translation booths. Here take place the workshops are carried and the social gathering with coffee.

Multipurpose room. Small interactive or photographic works are exhibited here. There is an access to the lower terrace lower. During the school year they carry out visits to school groups.

Restaurant. In the last floor, next to the terrace viewpoint, here you can enjoy a coffee or a meal of their daily menu.
