Nature without leaving Zaragoza: delve into a non riparian forest

Yoy don’t need to leave Zaragoza to enjoy an excursion by nature. The municipality of Zaragoza, in the 15-20 kilometers surrounding the city centre, has 800 hectares of riparian forest. We show you an easy route that you can perform in the grove of the Gállego River.Route: grove of Gállego river

The route begins and ends in Santa Isabel neighborhood. It has an approximate distance of 2.5 Km and it can be done on foot or by bike.

During the Summer, visiting the groves is a good choice since the temperature drops up to 9 degrees in comparison with the one in the city.

soto-del-gállego-1You can find different species of trees and plants, such as poplars, fennel or dandelion among others. It is easy to immerse yourself in nature since you stop hearing the bustle of the city and you can hear the singing of different birds as Wryneck, nightingales, Orioles, magpies…soto-del-gállego

Along the route there are several points to contemplate the river Gallego in various sections and hear the song of frogs.
