December 25: what to do on Christmas Day in Zaragoza?

At Christmas day shops, museums, monuments and many places close their doors to enjoy a day of family meal. But in the evening you have several places to visit on December 25th in Zaragoza.

Open spaces
The parks and boulevards are a good choice for a stroll or playing with the toys that brought Santa Claus. In addition if you go to Parque Grande, you can visit the botanical garden.

Plaza del Pilar
Basilica of the Pilar and La Seo Cathedral. The two cathedrals of Zaragoza will be open at the following times:
– Basilica of the Pilar opens 6:45 to 21:30. The elevator for the tower viewpoint opens 10 to 14 and 16 to 18 h.
– La Seo Cathedral  opens 10 to 12 and 16 to 18.30 h.

The Christmas Market in the Plaza del Pilar has craft stalls, jewelry, toys and food and is open from 11-00 h.

Children will also enjoy the ecological rides of the Plaza del Pilar: pony rides, Ferris wheel and carousel which open 11-14 and 17-22 h. The ice rink opens 10 to 14 and 15 to 22 h.  and tyre-sleds slide from 11-14 and 16-22 h.

The great Nativity scene of Plaza Pilar opens 11-14 and 16-21 h.

The Diocesan Museum can be visited from 10 to 14 h. Don’t miss the opportunity to visit this magnificent museum and see the temporary exhibition of capes of the Virgin of Pilar.

On the stage of Goya fountain (in plaza del Pilar), at 19 h. there is a concert choir by Amici Musicae.
